Character Name: Akihiko Sanada.
Character Canon: Persona 3.
Canon Point: January 31st. Near the top of Tartarus.
Age: 18.

Crime:

Impulsivity.

Akihiko is first known for being rash, impulsive and eager to beat the hell out of Shadows. First one to run into battle no holds barred. For the start of the game he's on the couch complaining he can't go to Tartarus, being a little jealous that he has to hold back whilst everyone else gets to go and fight Shadows. Nothing else but getting stronger mattered then. That thought process has since changed after the murder of his bestie, but crimes don't vanish because someone's mindset has changed and things are still very much a work in progress.

Background: A wiki link !

Personality:

At first glance Akihiko Sanada looks to be one of the cool types at High School. He's calm, seemingly collected and has a group of girls that follows him most of the time. But things couldn't be further from the truth in that respect.

Akihiko is known for being somewhat impulsive and brash to begin with, the first few times he's seen regarding the dark hour he's complaining that he can't take part in the fighting due to an injury. He wants to be there in the thick of the action, defeating the shadows and getting stronger. It's almost to the point of being narrow sighted, focused on this one thing that he needs to do. He's strong and Akihiko knows it, fighting with his fists with a ferocious determination toe to toe with shadows and enemies alike. There is little time for weakness when it comes to battles and he makes sure to meet them head on, not giving himself too much time to overthink things.

The strength-seeking is down to a single reason that shapes a lot of Akihiko's motives in the earlier days; his sister Miki died when they were younger in a fire at the orphanage. Akihiko harbours guilt and the feeling of powerlessness that he could not do much to protect his sister and therefore needed to be stronger, even going so far as to join the boxing club in a bid to learn to fight and this in turn drives a lot of his early on decision making. If he isn't strong he can no longer protect people, and this motive is a driving force for a lot of his choices.

He can be stubborn too, refusing to easily let things go, using his determination to do what is needed to; be it getting to the top of Tartarus, or getting his friend Shinjiro back to school. Both unlikely, but he'll never quit trying no matter what Shinji says. He won't let anything defeat the group either if he has a say in it, even being one of the first to point out they should believe in the protagonist and their actions when things are at their most dire.

Despite these traits, Akihiko does begin to show more personality as time progresses through the year. He can be sarcastic and blunt, but he's also quite socially awkward and oblivious to a lot of things. Those girls at high school that follow him? Akihiko doesn't even know their names, in fact all he knows is they give him a headache with their loud voices. He has no idea why wearing speedos and a t-shirt to the beach would be considered a faux pas, and women are an utter mystery to him, so much so that after the incident of trying to talk to ladies at the beach, he can be found in his room reading a book that teaches such things. Akihiko knows that he may not be able to do something, but it won't stop him trying to get better and then succeed. Even when it comes to cooking; he boils the life out of everything, but still tries to learn things with the protagonist in the kitchen. He pushes himself in order to grow.

After the death of his best friend, Akihiko realises and understands how his obsession with growing stronger had been to the point of detrimental and he knows Shinjiro would have urged him to fight for the future, rather than dwell on the past. He remains impulsive and headstrong, but tempers it to the point of a fierce determination instead, something to wield to make a better future for them all rather than on himself over things he can no longer change. Akihiko accepts what has happened to his sister and to Shinjiro too. Anyone would have been forgiven for holding the murder against the young Ken and his actions, but Akihiko instead takes Shinjiro's final ask to heart and instead looks after the boy, pulling him up when needed when the other beings to dwell on things.

Occasionally Akihiko can be pragmatic, an example being he believes even with the opportunity to change the past that the dead should remain dead. Changing things would diminish the impact of such events. He's also smart in some areas, or just good at learning, as Akihiko does well in tests at school. He's regimented in his training, making sure to keep up his fitness levels, going to boxing club and also watching his food intake. He supports the other members of the team, almost taking on a supportive big brother role, and would fight to the death for any of them.

Abilities: ((cw: suicidal imagery for this section))

Akihiko is one of the Persona crew which means he has the ability to summon a manifestation of his psyche. This in turn allows Akihiko to fight, most notably against Shadows during the dark hour. His Persona is summoned by shooting himself in the head with a custom gun known as an Evoker.

His Persona is called Caesar, and most of the skills revolve around electric (zio) based attacks, meaning that Akihiko is susceptible to ice based attacks. The full spell list is here.

Outside of his Persona, Akihiko is in the boxing club and is very good at it, he also makes sure to keep his fitness levels up.
